How to make Homemade Egg Noodles

Homemade egg noodles are a delicious and luxurious treat you can make yourself at home. You just need some eggs and flour, and then it’s time to mix!


The first step is to separate the whites from the yolks. The whites can be used as is, or you can use them in another recipe. The yolks should be saved for the next step.


The dough for this recipe is very similar to a regular bread dough and will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.


Ingredients:


  • 1 pound noodles (we used egg noodles)
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 4 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

1. Boil your noodles in salted water until they're soft. Add some butter to the water to keep them from sticking together.

2. While your noodles are cooking, combine the eggs with some salt and pepper in a bowl and beat them up with a fork until they're well-incorporated into each other, but not overmixed (about 30 seconds).

3. Drain the boiling pasta into a colander and add the beaten eggs to it, stirring quickly so they don't stick together or get burned by over-contact with heat.

4. Remove from heat and immediately add them to your noodles!
