How to make Chicken Fried Rice |
This is a basic recipe for chicken fried rice. It is made with chicken, eggs and rice. You can also add other ingredients depending on what you like or what you have in your fridge!
Chicken Fried Rice Recipe
Ingredients:
- -1/4 cup chopped green onions
- -1/4 cup chopped celery
- -1/4 cup chopped carrot
- -2 tablespoons soy sauce
- -2 tablespoons water
- -2 tablespoons vegetable oil (to cook the rice)
- -3 eggs, scrambled and beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for the egg mixture)
- -3 cups cooked white rice (cooked according to package directions.
How to make Chicken Fried Rice
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes or until water is absorbed.
2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook chicken in oil until no longer pink; drain on paper towels.
3. While chicken is cooking, in a large bowl combine eggs and flour; add cooked rice and stir until well blended; add soy sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper until well blended; set aside for 10 minutes for egg mixture to thicken up slightly.
4. Add chicken to egg mixture; stir gently until combined well with rice mixture (you may need to fold it); serve immediately or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve later on.
